TAIL OF THE DARKSIDE


In 1994 using dark, haunting rhythms and powerful vocals, DARKSIDE soon established themselves as a musical force in the Midwest. The band having released a self titled EP and the 6 song "Eternal Tears" cd, which earned vocalist Steve Bentley BANZAI Magazine's "Best Vocalist Award", the band embarked throughout the area, playing virtually every show offered to them. Word soon spread through the Kansas City area of DARKSIDE, their sound compared to Judas Priest, Sanctuary and Savatage.

DARKSIDE's music has been featured in seven horror movie's and two movie soundtracks. Members of the band have appeared in "Moonchild", "Biker Babes From Beyond The Grave" and "Young Lust". The band has also been featured on FEH Magazine and Inferno Music compilation releases.

In early 1998, the band independently released the five song EP, "Creative Vengeance" which over 2,000 copies have been distributed to fans in Sweden, England, Ireland, Canada, Europe, Austrailia, and the United States. The band recieved exstensive airplay on Kansas City's KQRC-FM and has appeared on "Unsigned", the local music show.

The band has been featured in interviews and articles in PitchWeekly, Transcendence, Banzai, and FEH Magazines. Pitchweekly compared the band to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, in their love for the crowd and the constant participation of their audiences with every song.
BANZAI magazine presented the band an award for "Most Outstanding Video" for the self released "Evolution of Darkness" home video which features videos for songs "Final Eclipse" and "October Moon". Bassist Randy Hickey recently received the 2002 "Outstanding Bassist" award.

DARKSIDE has opened for headliner's such as Flotsam & Jetsam, Fight, and Strutter as well as headlining shows throughout Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Colorado.
Now with the release of the band's first full length CD entitled, "Masquerade", their most powerful release to date. The 11 songs range from the exsplosive title track, to the classical entwines of "Dreaming In Black". The artwork for "Masquerade" was done by reputable artist Gery Nible, who's credits include artwork for Overkill, Testament, The Misfits, Possession and most notably Slayer.
